Science from the field

MUR Initiative's research spans species monitoring, habitat ecology, conservation technology, and policy.

Across the four centers we collect, share, and publish field data: snow leopard sightings from camera traps, water quality readings from steppe rivers, raptor migration counts, herder community surveys, vegetation indices, and climate observations.

Research themes

  • Snow leopard population dynamics across the corridor
  • River and lake water quality in Uvs and Zavkhan basins
  • Argali sheep and ibex migration patterns
  • Community-based conservation models
  • Climate impacts on alpine and steppe habitats

Publications, datasets, and partner organisations appear here as the research program grows.
